Project Description

Reflections on Pine

COMMEMORATING CIVIL RIGHTS, COMMUNITY & CHANGE

Reflections on Pine

Eastern Shore Network for Change and Dorchester County residents planned events to mark 50 years since the 1967 civil unrest in Cambridge.

We were honored to develop a simple, strong and spiritual identity for the commemoration event name, logo and website. Coupling the word Reflections with the location, the name connotes a personal, introspective spirit and invites respect and illumination. Inspired by Cambridge’s Bethel A.M.E. Church window, the logo illustrated the occasion in a contemporary, uplifting and inclusive manner.

The vibrant mark, with a cross punctuating the center, draws from a liturgical color palette and conveys both prisms of light and shards of broken glass from the unrest.

  • Event Branding & Logo Design

“The commemoration brand created by Choptank captured the essence of our community’s struggle to connect with its past. The logo embodied the spirit of hope, faith, and change. It symbolized a path forward for our community and became an icon for unity in Cambridge and our state. Choptank Communications took our vision and went above and beyond to make it a reality.”
