Project Description
Queen Anne’s County, Maryland used “Live. Work. Play” to market the county’s assets for more than a dozen years. With the merger of the economic development and tourism marketing teams in 2019, the county sought a new place brand that differentiated Queen Anne’s unique personality and characteristics.
In collaboration with the Economic Development & Tourism Office’s new leadership, Choptank executed a discovery and engagement process with community stakeholders that used an online survey and focus groups (in-person and virtual) to define Queen Anne’s distinct characteristics and selling points.
The outcome was a new brand platform and unified marketing identity – Where Shore Living Begins – that strengthens the county’s separate but not segregated connection to Maryland’s mainland and reinforces its position as a beautiful and bountiful home for new businesses and families and an alluring destination for vacationers and day-trippers.
